You can make this atta sheera for any vrat, katha, or special occasion. Jaggery is what I used to make this dish. My preferred sweetener is jaggery, since it keeps the body warm and is a healthier alternative to sugar. This halwa will give you strength and increase your stamina. Atta Ka Sheera | Healthy Sheera Recipe

Video recipe for Atta Ka Sheera with detailed instructions. For vrat and festivals, this atta sheera recipe is typically cooked as prasad. This recipe is simple to prepare and only takes 15 minutes.

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Jaggery grated
  • ½ cup Ghee
  • 1 cup Whole Wheat Flour


  • Add 1 cup water to a pan, add 1 cup of jaggery, and stir until the jaggery is completely dissolved.
  • Keep it aside once it has been dissolved.
  • Melt 1/2 cup of ghee in a fresh pan.
  • 1 cup whole grain flour Keep the flame at a medium level and roast for 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Filter the jaggery water now, then gradually stir it into the mixture.
  • Remember to add the jaggery water slowly because it contains impurities.
  • Turn off the flame after another 2 to 3 minutes of cooking.
  • Add some chopped nuts as a finishing touch and final ingredient.
