- 2 cardamom pods
- 1/2 cup desiccated coconut or shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup milk powder
- Milk for binding, as needed
- Ghee for greasing, optional
- Silver foil optional, for garnish
- Chopped pistachios or almonds for garnish
- Rose petals optional, for decoration
Instructions
Prepare the Cashew Mixture:
- In a blender, grind 1/4 cup cashews, 1/2 cup sugar, and 2 cardamom pods into a fine powder.
- Transfer this mixture to a large plate.
- Blend 1/2 cup desiccated coconut until fine.
- Add this coconut powder to the cashew mixture.
- Mix in 1/2 cup milk powder until well combined.
Form the Dough:
- Gradually add milk, one spoon at a time, to the mixture. Mix until a smooth, pliable dough forms. Be careful not to add too much milk; the dough should be just moist enough to hold together.
- Place the dough on a greased surface (using ghee or a non-stick rolling mat).
- Roll out the dough to your desired thickness.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes under a fan to firm up slightly.
- Use a sharp cutter or glass to cut the dough into desired shapes (such as rounds or squares).
Garnish:
- Optionally, place silver foil on the pedas.
- Garnish with chopped pistachios, almonds, or rose petals for added elegance.
- Enjoy the pedas immediately or store them in an airtight container.
