Wash and soak daal for 1 hour. After 1 hour drain the water and put it in pressure cooker.
Add 3 cups of water, sat, onions, tomatoes, turmeric, garam masala and dhaniya powder. Mix well and take 2-3 whistles.
Once pressure cooker is cold , open the lid and boil daal for 4-5 minutes. Mix it well.
Now add green chilly and coriander leaves and boil again for 2 minutes. Masoor dal is ready. keep it aside.
Now heat small tadka pan. Add oil or ghee. Add cumin seeds, garlic, onions and sute till garlic turns pink.
Now add hing and red chilly powder. Add this hot tadka over dal and mix well.
Boil daal again for a minute or two. Masoor dal tadka is ready to serve. Serve masoor ki daal with rice or roti.
