Masoor Dal Fry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Masoor Dal
  • 2 Tomato small size, chopped
  • 1 Onion fine chopped
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • Salt according to taste
  • 3 cups Water
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2-3 Garlic Clove sliced
  • 2 tbsp Onion sliced
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida
  • ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 2 Green Chilli slit
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Leaves fine chopped

Instructions
 

  • Wash and soak daal for 1 hour. After 1 hour drain the water and put it in pressure cooker.
  • Add 3 cups of water, sat, onions, tomatoes, turmeric, garam masala and dhaniya powder. Mix well and take 2-3 whistles.
  • Once pressure cooker is cold , open the lid and boil daal for 4-5 minutes. Mix it well.
  • Now add green chilly and coriander leaves and boil again for 2 minutes. Masoor dal is ready. keep it aside.
  • Now heat small tadka pan. Add oil or ghee. Add cumin seeds, garlic, onions and sute till garlic turns pink.
  • Now add hing and red chilly powder. Add this hot tadka over dal and mix well.
  • Boil daal again for a minute or two. Masoor dal tadka is ready to serve. Serve masoor ki daal with rice or roti.
