Chawal ke Fare | Rice Fara Recipe | Healthy and tasty rice fara is a very famous snack from Bihar. This dish is a super easy and healthy one as it does not involve any frying.
I serve this snack with a tangy spicy chutney of Tomato and Coriander but you can also serve it with Dahi Chutney, Garlic Chutney or any other chutney of your choice as well. I have used leftover rice to make the paste but you can also use fresh rice paste as well. These Fare can be served as evening snacks or as breakfast.

Chawal Ke Fare
Ingredients
Chutney
- 2 Tomatoes
- 8-10 Garlic Clove
- 2 Green Chilli
- Coriander Leaves small bunch
- Salt
Dough
- 1 cup Rice Flour
- ½ cup Boiled Rice mashed
- Salt
- 1 pinch Baking Soda
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- Oil

- 4 Garlic Cloves crushed
- Salt
- Oil
Tadka
- Oil
- 2-3 Dry Red Chillies
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- Curry Leaves
- Fare
Instructions
Chutney
- In a grinder add tomatoes, garlic cloves, green chili, coriander leaves and salt.
- Grind to make a coarse paste.
Dough
- In a bowl add rice flours, mashed riced, salt, baking soda, turmeric powder and mix well.
- After mixing add little water and knead to make a smooth dough of it.
- Now apply a thin layer of oil and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Chawal Ke Fare
- Make small dough balls from the dough.
- Take one dough ball and roll them to make a thin log of it. Repeat it with all the dough.
- In a pan add water, garlic cloves and let it boil.
- Next add salt, drop the fare in it and add oil on top of it.
- Cover and let it cook for 5 minutes on medium high flame.
- After 5 minutes check it once and the cover and cook for 2-3 more minutes.
- After 3 minutes remove it and let it cool down.
Tadka
- Heat a pan with some oil and add dry red chillies, cumin seeds, sesame seeds.
- Mix well on medium high flame and once seeds start to crackle add curry leaves.
- Next add fare in it and mix well.
